Our Future Plans
This R&D project proposes the synthesis of carbon Nano-material (CNM) from waste plastics. Plastics are precursors of carbon and carbon Nano-material synthesis is one of the novel ways of converting waste into usable high value formation. Plastics will be cracked using suitable catalysts in an inert atmosphere. The advantages of using waste plastics are that it will eliminate the polluting waste plastics from the environment, the input cost will be very low and material can be sourced easily from the market.
CNM is one of the best 21st century material available in the world with the properties of defect-free structure, high thermal conductivity, high electrical conductivity, light weight, high strength, optical, adsorption properties etc., Hence CNM is having various applications like electrodes, fuel cell, solar cell, composites, paints, display systems, gas storage systems, filtration systems etc
This project not only envisages cleaning the environment from polluting plastics, but also creating the best material suitable for various sustainable technologies like fuel cell, solar cell, hydrogen storage, water filtration and other numerous sustainable and eco-friendly applications

This highly sustainable R&D based project is estimated to cost 200 million Indian Rupees to set up production facility and characterization facilities. Project is estimated to span for a 3 year period to do research & development, production and commercialization
